Bergamot Essential Oil(Citrus Bergamia) is cold pressed from the rind of a fruit that grows in Italy, named for a region in Lombardy, where the essence was first sold. It is widely used in the perfume industry, as its scent is more complex and considered superior to other citrus oils. It combines well with Jasmine, Cypress and Neroli for fragrance and with Lavender for aromatherapy.
Bergamot oil has been used in Italian folk medicine for centuries, primarily for fevers and intestinal parasites/worms. It’s an antiseptic of particular value for mouth, skin, respiratory and urinary tract infections. Bergamot can be irritating to the skin, but if used in moderation in a carrier oil, it can be quite useful in healing eczema, psoriasis, acne and wounds.
Bergamot, like all citrus oils, is a natural lifter of the spirit and mood and can be helpful in the treatment of depression. It is photo-sensitive – do not use it before sun exposure.

Romance Blend – bergamot, neroli, jasmine
Spirit & Mood Lifter – bergamot, lemon, tangerine, geranium
Uplifting Massage Oil – bergamot, lime, tangerine
Basic cautions: Always use essential oils with caution and recognize that these oils are strongly concentrated – a little bit goes a long way. Do not ingest essential oils or take them internally in any way. Always use essential oils in a carrier oil or lotion. Keep all oils out of the reach of children. When trying a new oil or blend, always do a patch test.
