Cinnamon Essential Oil (Cinnamomum Zeylanicum)has a delightfully spicy, warm fragrance that we often associate with the holiday season and colder temperatures. Its steam distilled from the leaves of the Cinnamomum zeylanicum tree and has been used historically to address emotional and physical ailments, such as depression, respiratory and digestive problems, colds, flu, menstrual cramps, arthritis, and skin infections. Its main benefits are soothing and pain relief and historically used for muscle rub, scenting the home and crafts.
Cinnamon oil is strong and should never be applied directly to the skin. However, a few drops of Cinnamon in a carrier oil makes for a soothing and aromatic massage, as it gently warms the skin on contact. Always do a patch test first if using on damaged or sensitive skin.
Cinnamon is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-microbial and its anti-rheumatic qualities address joint and muscle pain. Used in aromatherapy, either using a diffuser or in a room spray, Cinnamon can lift one’s mood and create a warmth of mind, body and soul.

Uplifting Massage – cinnamon, lemon, rosemary
Basic cautions: Always use essential oils with caution and recognize that these oils are strongly concentrated – a little bit goes a long way. Do not ingest essential oils or take them internally in any way. Always use essential oils in a carrier oil or lotion. Keep all oils out of the reach of children. When trying a new oil or blend, always do a patch test.
